For all who didnt know!
I am the former admin of a former c2a server. former admin because of some lazy people not knowing what they do. Former server because Garnett moved servers without letting anybody know. For those who arent into servers and stuff... I was told this move took place to learn something from it. You could have stayed with the old one. I dont get the point... I was asked to help out by a nice guy and I did even after leaving c2a because the current admin (same guy who transfered me from active to former admin) wasnt able to maintain the server properly and we (the guy who asked not the admin) are still friends. I did some upgrades from time to time and fixed problems noone knew about because they were not recognized by others but me or were part of an upgrade noone did. So keep in mind that if you have any problems with the new server or want me to have a look for issues you might not see, you may give a call. Have a nice evening! Chemist |

Chemist,
Thank you for helping, I didn't know that you were still involved. As Flash has explained to you, this was a learning experience and it was time to move on. Some optimisations and small configurations still need to be made, but we are happy with the outcome. Thanks, and have a good evening yourself. Regards, David. |

You two still need a lot to learn about linux! settingup a fresh install at a still running server would be the idea I had on this topic.
still got all c2a|root|webmaster mail and a short look at users logged/open sessions/ssh/etc helps recognizing who has a session still open (I never closed the sessions as I was connecting from another 24/7 server) and who do you think fixed the RAM issues with the virus and spam scanners? Thanks Chemist (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Like I already said, I wasn't aware that you did this. And again, it is all a learning experience. You went through it too at some point (I'm only 20, and do Linux as a hobby. I mostly work with Microsoft products and am at work 11 hours a day). At the end of the day, you chose to leave C2A and it shouldn't be your responsibility. We appreciate the help you put in and we apologise for not letting you know sooner. |

Hi Chemist,
I also learned a lot from Your installation and suggestions (the secure ftp thingy springs to mind). And as I always stated here and to You, I appreciate that You supported C2A even after You'd left. That was a very noble and correct behavior of Yours. But now it was time for us to find our own way and stand on our own feet. So please don't look at us in this angry manner anymore. There was never a personal attack intended towards Your person. Even though the timing was perhaps a little unlucky. I will close this topic now, so that we can end this on a positive note. We saw flamewars enough. At least I have.... Chemist my friend, please keep us in mind without any grudge in Your heart. At the end of the day, we are all human. Keep those penguins running, Flashheart... |
